The Joys of a Bouncer

So Munchkin loves his bouncer! A lot! I think he finds joy in the fact that he can do something on his own without mom or dad helping him out. Independence is a wonderful thing you know? :) Sometimes he gets fussy if I haven't put him in the bouncer almost all day, but once I put him in, life is the bounciest, most grand ever. We can't just ignore him in the bouncer though - tragic - but have to pay attention to him at least every once in a while.

Warning, the following video may cause you to randomly burst out in "oohs," "awws," and "that's adorables" - especially for my female readers.

P.S. Uncle Michael thinks we should call baby boy "Goblin" instead of "Munchkin" as his code name on the blog. Apparently it's much more masculine and fitting of a little boy. Votes?

Munchkin Mania

How do people start posts? Hello our fellow readers... no sounds too Readers-Digest like. Time continues to fly by... that phrase may be a little to overused. So how about this:

Life continues to move forward and we are enjoying every minute (much better :) ). If you couldn't tell this doesn't sound like the usual post, this is Mr. speaking. I lost a bet with my Mrs. and I get to write the next blog post (this is better than the alternative, and trust me you don't want to know) (j/k).
Why not just start off with our little munchkin being cute:
Look he is already doing push-ups
"Oh no they found me!!!"
Poor little guy, he was in the middle of a great bouncing session and his switch suddenly turned off and he was out like a light.
Apparently he didn't want to be in his car seat. (what we were thinking)
(what Munchkin was thinking) You won't trap me in here again, I have figured out the secret way to escape!!
"Lets help dad lose his hair, maybe I can make him lose it faster than my grandpa's"
What can I say except cute.
Oooh my favorite, plastic fluff balls. Sadly I can't play with it often because I could suffocate (whatever that word means) :(
Look at me, no hands :)
I love eating in my bumbo :)

I hope that you enjoyed the many pictures and videos of Munchkin. Each and every day brings new excitements and joys. He continues to grow and do so much.

Glub, glub, glub

Another fun date a bit late :)

We finally were able to go to the local aquarium on a double date with Casey & Jenni. It is a small aquarium compared with Sea World and some other large ones, but it was quite enjoyable nonetheless. And the company couldn't have been better . . . ok, well maybe if it were Jenni & Emma instead of the C part of that equation . . . (just kidding, just kidding).
Best date companion EVER! My Mr. is SO handsome!
Little gators (I can't remember what they were called exactly, but it started with a "g" and I probably wouldn't spell it right anyway).
Definitely my favorite exhibit. Note the 2 penguins standing on the side . . .
They each definitely have their own personalities! Pushing each other in, trying to be the peace maker, and chasing each other around.
Very colorful little froggy. Too bad it's poisonous!
I wanted to get a picture of the River Otters - but there were a lot of people there and the otters were moving so quickly that my poor little phone camera could catch nothing but a blur! Bummer! If you're in the area though, they are definitely fun to see! Better yet, if you'll be in the area after December of this year, be sure to visit because the aquarium will have a fantastic new facility (the model I have seen looks amazing) - designed and assisted in part by some of my college professors (woot woot for Recreation Management!).

Christmas Trees in March

One of my favorite things to do around Christmas time is visit the Festival of Trees. So many gorgeous trees, elaborate gingerbread houses, impressive quilts, sweet smells, and festive sounds and performances. Ah, yes, a wonderful spirit - and all proceeds go to charity too!

Bet you're wondering why on earth I am talking about Christmas trees in mid-March? Simply because I was looking through some pictures of dates the Mr. and I have been on and realized that I had not shared this delightful  date! Tragic! So, I am backtracking. Hey, at least I am still in the same season right (for at least a few more days)?
Classy mini tree - perfect for table top decoration . . . or our apartment size
CUTEST little penguin decoration for another tree - had to get a close up.
A woman's dream tree - all about chocolate.
See - told you!
All about planes! We decided this was for Brittany :)
Of course - go Cougs! (Right next to  a tree decorated for the Utes)
Fantastic idea for recycling! So wanted to try this one out!
Christmas decor and a game all wrapped in one.
North Pole . . .
. . . Complete with a cute little village (note: Santa is apparently as large as elf houses . . . )
No, this picture is not upside down :)
The Mr. and I are going to own a cute little cabin-cottage one day! Complete with giant, cuddly bears outside too - haha.
A dream for a child who loves to read!
Sufficiently desiring for parts of Christmas yet? Don't wish too hard - I still want summer! I have lots of fun things planned to do with the baby!!
