The other night was just such a night. Fortunately Goose cooperated well and went to bed just after 6 pm. We had Mickey then join us for the first half of our date (movie night with treats), then put him to bed and commenced the second half of our date (dancing- we are learning the waltz... Any tips or favorite free online lessons?).

A Special Date
The Mr and I have had to get creative with our dates due to his work schedule and lack of cheap labor (young women in the ward) for babysitting. We are lucky to occasionally have a wonderful sister or couple in the ward watch the boys, but usually we have to use some brain power.
Air Show, Peaches, Slides, and Bike Rides
This summer has proved to have a lot of potential festivals to attend. One we made sure to visit was the Air and Water Show. Though, from where we sat we could only see the air portion. It was still fascinating!
With so many people and things going on in the city, sometimes we feel the need for a respite. So we drive a couple hours out to farm country...to pick fresh peaches!
Goose has also discovered his favorite hiding place: on top of the blender base in the cupboard.
Goose has really helped Mickey overcome his aversion to slides (probably instilled by his well-meaning, but over-concerned-for-the-first-child parents).
I have also thoroughly enjoyed more bike rides this summer and have tried to aim for at least one every other week in lieu of hiking. Once, I even trekked 12 miles round trip to the zoo by myself. I was pretty exhausted!
